Reindexing?

I have a Paperwhite (Version 1) and I have 1,200 or so books on it. I know it was fully indexed, but I did a search last night and it was indexing again... Any thoughts?

Have you recently done a firmware update? That can trigger a complete re-index.

That was the first thing I checked, to see if there was new firmware. I already have the current and had it for several weeks.

Did you discover what it was indexing? For example, if you add a highlight or note or bookmark, it adds something to My Clippings. That is indexed as well.

This thing happened to me also on my pw1 and on my new pw 2....not a clue about why it is reindexing all the titles sometimes.

It was (is) reindexing all of my books (currently at 426 of 1,400)

This happens to me every time I add a book to my PW2. It doesn't matter whether I add it from the cloud or from side-loading from my computer--it re-indexes every book on the device every time. This only started happening with the firmware upgrade.

There's something badly wrong there. That should certainly not happen.

Has it ever finished indexing? there might be a 'corrupt' book on there that it cannot deal with, in order to get to the rest. It should never have to reindex a book that's already indexed, except perhaps after an update.

For me, mine definitely finishes indexing in an hour or so, but the next time I add a book, it starts again. I installed the newest update yesterday, and I'm going to try adding a couple of books today to see if it happens again.

It JUST finished indexing... hopefully it sticks. I hate going to read while away from home and open my kindle to find my battery nearly gone

That's something that would happen if I added a new book to my k3 as well. I think it's just the reader's way of making sure everything is accounted for.

It's definitely NOT normal. I add books to my PW2 several times a week, and it only indexes the new content.
