Aura HD wifi connection annoyance
My Aura HD is a bit annoying when it comes to connecting to my wifi. I usually leave wifi disabled because I dont need to waste the battery and turn it on when I need it. Often what happens is it finds my access point and tries to connect to it and then it says "Something went wrong" and fails to connect. Then I can go and try and connect again, but now it doesn't try to connect automatically, instead it gives me the list of available access points and mine is listed there. When I select mine, I have to enter the password again, and it fails to connect again.
I have to restart the device, then go find my AP and enter the password, before it works again. That is pretty annoying.... does anyone have a fix for this? |

There has been a lot of discussion about this with the 3.x.x firmware. The problem is that the device will only connect properly once and needs to be powered off and on to fix it. It seems to be a clash between the device, the router and DHCP. A workaround is to reserve the IP address on the router. This works for a lot of people, but hasn't worked for some.
I do know Kobo is actively working on this. Hopefully the fix will be in the next firmware. |
