bulk delete from Amazon's Kindle webpage?

I was wondering if there was a way to delete multiple items at once from your Kindle library on the Amazon web page. Each time you get a new Kindle, they send you multiple user guides and dictionaries.

Looking at the documents in my Kindle account, I have over 15 user guides, some dating back to 2009. Is there a way to delete multiple docs at once instead of the ridiculous process of select action -> delete from libarary -> are you sure? yes -> wait for complete page refresh before deleting next.

I realize it isn't all that common to delete stuff from your account since most are books you bought/want to keep but Amazon sure does send you a lot of user guides.

You could try doing it via the media library: https://www.amazon.com/gp/ays?

Is this a part of Amazon?

And what is 'Fays&useRedirectOnSuccess,' which is in your link?

Yes it is part of Amazon (the link is to amazon.com, and the https just means it's a secure server), it's just your media library instead of only your ebook library. I've edited the link to remove the text that was after the ? and it still works ok. If you follow the link now and log into your account, you'll see the additional text appears again, it's just something to do with Amazon's servers.

I had just bookmarked the url from a post I saw on a forum discussing the same issue (deleting multiple items from your Amazon account).

Yes, that stuff is annoying. I had the same issue when I wanted to bulk delete articles from Readability, which were sent to my Kindle daily in one consolidated email.

This is the best alternative I've found, an add on which lets you bulk delete everything that's visible on a page

http://massdestroykindleitems.com

It can't bulk search your entire library, but it still helps.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will take a look.

I tried from my media library and it froze while sending 39 Kindle User Guides to the trash...I'll have to see if it actually worked or not.

I deleted 200 books at a time from the media library without any problems (using Chrome).

However, I've only just realised that while this is good for getting rid of the books from the manage your kindle page on the website, it's actually no use for deleting them completely from your archive.

Deleting them in the media library only moves them to the trash (and therefore removes them from the MYK page, but they don't delete the books fully in case you ever want to re-download them - and it won't even let you empty the trash, I already tried that).

So I've only got 200 books listed in MYK, but still got nearly 1000 items showing in my archive on the actual Kindle itself.

So it's good for deleting personal documents, articles etc, but not really for books.

Yes, MDKI is great if you want to delete all documents (on one page) that contain a specific phrase in their title. For individual cherry-picking, Check & Delete is better. Both have their purpose and you'll do best if you use both.

MDKI is failing on me due to loading http content on an https webpage.

I am using firefox 25 and of course, they were supposed to make ignoring this sticky across pageloads, but I've never gotten this to work...

I'm emailing the site owner.

@eschwartz: I just created a fresh MDKI bookmarklet and it does not load via http. I suggest you delete the one you have and create a new one. You may have an old version.

If you know of a way to make the script sticky, please share it here. I assume that you mean you don't want to have to click the bookmarklet every time you advance to a next page. Technically speaking, javascript lives only within the page which loads it. I tried using frames but MYK doesn't work when in a frame. The only other option I can think of, is a browser extension and that would be too much work for a free project. (I wrote the Check & Delete bookmarklet.)

It would (probably) be possible to display all MYK pages on a single page and thus get rid of the need for jumping between pages. Again though, too much work for a project that works for me. If anyone's interested to pay for this feature, let me know.

It's Firefox's new draconian Mixed Content blocker. It was supposed to whitelist any sites you have allowed to load mixed content, at least for that session as of FF 24. As of FF 26 that still doesn't work for me. I had to disable the feature b/c it disables half the internet.

A bookmarklet that loads over HTTP on an HTTPS page gets blocked as mixed content, which your check and delete bookmarklet passes since googlecode uses HTTPS.

Mass destroy uses http from the maker's website, and FF mixed content blocker stops it from loading, does NOT recognize the sticky "I want to load mixed content on this page" setting, and reloading the page with mixed content doesn't include bookmarklets since they are not part of the page.

So I emailed and suggested MDKI should be hosted over HTTPS, as a googlecode project, or on GitHub, or other sites that allow free code hosting, which generally use HTTPS, and the MDKI maker thanked me and said he'd look into it.

He then transferred everything over to GitHub, (I believe that very day) so it all works now. Easy fix, huh?

TL;DR It's all Firefox's fault that the bookmarklet didn't work to begin with, and your bookmarklet worked just fine anyway. And so does MDKI now, too.

The media library looks useful for deleting items, but it opens in a very narrow window at the bottom of the page, which makes viewing and selecting really tedious. I don't see any way to drag or otherwise enlarge the window. Am I missing something? Thanks! ...Steve

Just deleted a pile of items from the media library, but they're still showing up in Your Kindle Library under Manage Your Kindle. The media library shows 19 items, while Your Kindle Library shows 40. ?

Personally I wouldn't use Media Library for anything. If you go there, Amazon tells you to go elsewhere to manage your content. It's just there because pulling the plug on it now would upset people that actually use it. But it is just a matter of time before it goes away, they aren't going to fix problems or enhance it.

Amazon seems to be rolling out a major Manage Your Kindle change (see the other thread here). It will allow 'bulk delete' and other operations on multiple items, but from what I've seen they probably need to tweak a few things before they flip the switch.

What's with all the foreign language dictionaries in the Kindle library (many with Chinese characters). Went to the trouble of tediously deleting them one by one, and now they're back again! Ugh.
