Stock clearance? The NST is a bit old, but at that price, it's a very good buy.

It's very old. It was released in Jun 2011. This is the lowest price I've seen it at. During Black Friday, the lowest price was $39.

B&N is already sold out of the 16GB Nook HD+ and the smoke 16GB Nook HD.

Maybe the huge warehouses full of unsold stock are finally starting to empty. The Nook HD is a fantastic ereader. The Nook ST, required a lot of hacking for me to like it (before I sold it).

Didn't realize it was that long ago. Still, if you want a no-frills reader, it does the job. Still have mine, but I mostly read on the new glowlight these days.

The Daily Deal is over, but it's still on sale for two dollars more. It's now $40.

BTW, the original Nook Simple Touch Glowlight (the one WITH the micro SD slot) is also on sale at Best Buy. It's $59, with free shipping, which I think is only $10 more than the cheapest it was during the holidays, if I'm reading tubemonkey's wonderful old "Best Friday tablet and ereader" thread correctly.

My husband and I both have one of these, and we're quite happy with them, since we both like to read in bed and/or on planes, where the built-in light is really useful. We've been lucky, and haven't had any pixels go bad. I just now bought one more at the sale price as a backup since the new Glowlight stupidly doesn't have a memory expansion slot. (Dumb dumb dumb, but that's been hashed over enough elsewhere...)

Link is here.

Thanks for the heads up. I had wanted a lighted ereader and I simply couldn't pass up a deal like this. It's the older model but I couldn't care less.
