Another SD card thread
Hi, is there anybody who has managed to successfully mount an external micro sd card to a KOBO Aura? I have tried with three different cards (all formatted with that little utility linked in some threads here) without any luck. The only result was a corrupted database with the necessity of a subsequent factory reset (I have Coolreader and Koreader installed so that may have contributed to KOBO notrecognizing my sideloaded books anymore). Funny thing is the sd card is recognized correctly in the reader's info pane but I always get that "please reformat to FAT32" message. PC won't see it ether when I connect the reader via USB. Obviously all three cards work perfectly on other appliances... Do I need to see a shaman for this or is KOBO likely to fix the issue in some future firmware upgrade?

I don't have am Aura, but, I think the answer is that the external SD card does work. The device has been around for to long for us not to have heard screams if it didn't. Plus, I am sure I have seen mentions of it working.
The "please format" message is fairly common on both my Glo and Touch. Generally, it means I hesitated a little when inserting the card so it didn't connect cleanly. But, usually, the card and books are actually recognised. What sort and size is the card? Also, what happens if you power off, insert the card and turn on? |

I'm embarassed now. Apart from the "please format" message two of the three cards actually work (Sandisk 2 gb and a budget, I think german brand, Mustang 16gb) It took inserting the card in the slot a bit more vigorously. I apologize for wasting your valuable time
