Kindle Paperwhite that is blocked from registering - any uses?
Hi. I have had problems with my Paperwhite, where the Wi-Fi network would only work 1/10 times, basically I think the Wi-Fi chip is absolutely wrecked and I can't do anything about it. In any case - I've contacted Amazon Support and they said that they could replace it for a new device, but after asking to talk to manager, they agreed that instead I could purchase the new Paperwhite 2 with an 80% discount. I agreed and ordered the new Paperwhite. The interesting thing is,that they said that I can keep the old one, I don't need to send it back, but it will be blocked from registering ever again. So I basically have a fully functional e-reader, except for wi-fi functionality.
So, since I have no more uses for the device - does anyone have suggestions for cool stuff I could do with it? Personally, I would really like to know why the Wi-Fi doesn't work,so maybe someone could tell me how to access log files for the wifi driver? That would be a good start I guess. |

I didn't think it was possible to read anything on these devices since they don't have a printer attachment. But Twobob tells me we can run a network attached printer from them. The main problem with that is there isn't any attachment that will grind up trees and turn them into paper, nor one to make ink. |

Honestly KNC1.... It's not that hard. You put it face down on a photo copier and print it that way. I thought everyone knew that!!
