Beyond The Book

I've finally found a book on my Aura that has Beyond The Book on it. There's an icon for it in the bottom menu, but when I switch over to my Aura HD the icon doesn't show up. They both have version 3.1.1 and I thought that BTB was available on the HD, but is that not correct? Thanks.

It is indeed available on the Aura HD with 3.1.1. The double-diamond symbol for it should appear at the lower-left of the bottom status bar when you bring up menus. Make sure the box "Show in book" is ticked at the upper-left of that screen, if you want the terms highlighted in the book.

Well, that's interesting. It definitely isn't on the HD, but then again there haven't been any underlined words in the book on the Aura, just the icon. Maybe its just a fluke in the book on the Aura. I've been wanting to see if that feature is useful or not, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting. Thanks for your answer.

I guess it depends on the book. Maybe a publisher has to actually put some metadata in a book. Maybe it's just some keywords.
So far I've seen it in one book, Brain Rules by John Medina. Turned it off. It's distracting and I don't want to be told to explore Kobo's store while I'm reading.
That said, someone actually exploring a certain field might find the feature useful, even though I'd guess an actual bibliography by the book's authors might make somewhat more sense.
