Custom Yes/No Field doesn't appear in browser and can't search on it

I created a custom yes/no field called "nosync" and marked a few books with it.

For some reason the field doesn't show up in my browser and I can't do a search on it. I tried "nosync:true" and "nosync:yes" and neither returns a result.

Is there a trick to using a yes/no field properly?

Thanks

All custom fields begin with a:
Pound/hashmark (#)
#nosynch:true

you can still use a column that is not displayed, but Preferences: Add Your Own Columns: has a tisk for which to show and changing the order of the list controls WHERE on the spreadsheet.

You did RESTART Calibre after adding the column

Thanks for the ideas. It was a combination of the # and the fact that I got confused on the display name vs. the column name. Once I got that sorted out using the field in a query and a virtual library worked fine.

I did notice that yes/no fields don't show up in browser tree on the left - I'm assuming that's by design...

I think so. D
Comments and Dates are not there either.

Lets face it: there are only 2 choices (3 if you use Tri-state mode) :
