Wirelessly send files to Nook
I don't know if this has been asked before. But can you send files to Nook ereader wirelessly? I know the Amazon Kindle does it but I like the design of the Nook. I am on a strict budget but with the Nook being only $40 this weekend I can't pass it up. I know you can do something called rooting, but I am not very tech savvy and I am scared to try it. I use Dropbox on my tablet. Is there a way to use Dropbox on a Nook?

Yes there is a Dropbox app for the Nook tablets, no there isn't an app for the e-ink Nook. No e-ink eReaders can install apps.
By rooting your Nook ereader you could install apps anyway, you may want to check that out. It might be easier than you think -- there are some good guides. http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/201...-or-nook-glow/ http://nookdevs.com/Nook_Simple_Touch/Rooting |

No, you cant email books to a Nook Touch.
I am not sure which version of the Nook is so cheap (I'm so jealous of you guys in the US who can get these deals) but I have a 1yr old Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight and I love it. Before I got it I had had a Kindle Keyboard and then a Kindle Touch. My daughter has a Kobo Touch. I think my Nook ST is far better than the Kindle Touch and the Kobo is way, way down the list. I do also have a Nook HD+ and I know many people use the HD+ as their main device to read from, but personally I think the Nook ST and the Nook HD+ are completely different devices and I use them differently. I read almost exclusively off my Nook ST and I use my HD+ almost solely for games, web access and general tablet use, and only read off it if I'm away from home without my Nook ST. |

I use dropbox on my eink readers. Just install it on your pc then use the browser on your ereader and go to www.dropbox.com/m to access your files. Just login and all of your files are there. My calibre library is in my dropbox folder and that is wonderful easy access to all of my books. Any eink reader with a browser can use this. As long as the Nook ST has a browser you are good to go.
Quick and easy. Last edited by mystika1; 11-30-2013 at 08:14 AM. |

Some people are using the dropbox app on their rooted simple touches. I think they download the apt to do that. Could somebody please tell me where they get dropbox from and which version works on our rooted simple touch glows?
Also, which version of cool reader is the best to use. I recently bought a simple touch with glowlight at best buy for $50 and experimenting with it over the weekend....and would like to put my time to good use! ![]() |

One of the many reasons why Nook is a horrible choice; why buy a device from a company that actually WANTS to screw you? For no gain whatsoever? That being said, Kindle absolutely lets you download books through the built-in browser, and not only that, Amazon touts it as a feature, because Amazon is attempting to <shudder> make customers happy. Or you could root the Nook ST and install a web browser. By the same extension, you could install the dropbox app. The Nook is running a derivative Android, and rooting will allow you to install apps straight from Google Play. |

I had to use an older version of Dropsync (1.68) on my NST when I had it rooted. 2.x versions weren't working. Here are my notes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7#post43886167
Still waiting for someone to root the new Glowlight... love the new reader but missing my root action... |

I don't really like the nook reading app, so I do best of both worlds, Kindle reading app on the Nook HD. Yes, I guess tablet only, but then I can use Caliber to send thru Amazon to the Nook. Works fine, and I can send to my real kindle too.
