Device: Kindle fire Hd - 1st Gen
Thumbs up Can't send more than one book to Kindle

I upgraded to Calibre 1.17.0 the other day (after using it with no problem with my device for over a year) and now I can only send one book at a time to my rooted Kindle Fire HD (no modifications to OS in a year). No matter how many books I try to send to device, it replaces the only book it sent the last attempt with one of the new selections. I've tried different authors in case something in the metadata was being "seen" as a duplicate without success. The device is detected fine and no error shows. It looks like the books sent without fail, but only one of the selected books shows up.

I've pasted my debug log in case someone can see something to help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Additional info

I just noticed that the single book to successfully send to device has the filename "(_P_author_[^_-]_) -__s_(_P_series_[^_0-9-]_)(_P_series_index_[0-9]_)_s_-_s_(_P_title_[^_]._) _

Good lord, what is going on? I haven't changed my metadata plugboard settings and I can't find where this is screwing up

Any help is much appreciated.

PS. I have no formal computer training so forgive my incompetence.

That is the wrong template language (Xpath) for a plugboard template
Have you looked at the Plugboard Template to see if it has been trashed?

Below is my plugboard template:
any format:any device = ([{series} {series_index:0>2s} {title}] -> title)

and my send to device save template is:
{author sort}/{series}/{series} {series_index:0>2s} - {title}

Plugboards do not affect file names. They affect metadata stored inside the book.

Check the send-to-device template in both Preferences -> Sending books to devices and in the device plugin (see this by right-clicking on the device icon when your device is connected). I strongly suspect that you will see exactly the text that you provided above. If so, then this also explains why you can send only one book, as every book will have the same file name.

Thank you,

the "send-to-device template in both Preferences -> Sending books to devices"
was set up correctly ({authors}/{series}/{series} {series_index:0>2s} - {title}) but somehow the device plugin when the device is connected was borked.

I did not know there was a separate set up when the device was connected.

Thanks so much
