Hi Kris

first of all I have to thank you! Marvin is a gorgeous App. It is my most used App and I really love it.

There are only some minor feature I would like to see:

- Page numbers for the whole book not only for the chapter
- more customisation for the header and footer so that I can place title, author, page number, progress bar, clock, etc wherever I wan't
- localisation (I can help for german)

I found that I am unable to use Marvin due to lack of page number. I was reading Great Gatsby with my son and had to flip back many pages to find something. I do this several times to show my son where the information came from to help with reading comprehension. Having no specific page number to go back to quickly made this iPad app (ios7) quite unusable. I ended up just using ibooks (ick). The % done bar at the bottom does not help me in either flipping pages back and forth or even figuring out where I am in the book. I do straight page numbers much better in figuring out locations in a book.

Have you tried using the "Deep View" feature for this? It sounds like an ideal application for your purposes.

- I'm working on page numbers.
- I might be adding new header/footer templates when I finish page numbers. It's unlikely that there will ever be 100% customisable headers and footers. It would require some complex in-app UI to do that.
- Localisation is definitely happening this year. German is very close to the top of my list.

@harriska2 Even if page numbers did exist, I think that bookmarking is way more efficient to cross reference. You might also want to experiment with DeepView like @BoxOfSnoo suggests.

that sounds great to me!

Maybe you can do the header/footer thing like this:
- UISegmentedControl for: left/center/right/off
- UISwitch'es for things to display: author, title, page number, clock, etc
- placed in an UITable you can also implement reordering
- this both for header and footer and I'm happy

@mwx - The problem isn't the technical ability to do it. It's that I'm being extra cautious about adding new UI, switches and settings to Marvin. I want to be careful not to alienate casual readers by adding complexity that will only be useful to a very tiny percentage of "power users".

In many cases, I put some of the more exotic settings out of Marvin and into the device's settings app. This feature is more complex than that and would require new settings inside Marvin.

Nonetheless, this feature is already on Marvin's list of feature requests. I'll visit it later on once I have some of the higher priority updates out of the way.

OK, I understand that point.

BTW: you should add more themes to the App to give us the possibility to support your work. Maybe extra expensive silver/gold/platin themes.
