Kindle 2 irc and terminal?
Hi!
Im a linux-geek and i was thinking about using my kindle 2 as a communication-device. Hopefully running a IRC client on it and using a bouncer on one of my servers. With bitlbee I could be accessible for anyone at any time just about anywhere. Any ideas on how I can make this possible? I have jailbreaked my kindle 2 (international) and installed KUAL and duokan. I really just want terminal and IRC-program (irssi would probably be the best one) Any tips? Any IRC chans? |

There are already terminal and IRC-client programs ported here to the Kindles. You would have to read their postings to see if they run on a K2i. |

Nope, no WIFI.
That might be an issue. I think I'll put in another sim and use it when I'm home. When out traveling it would be great if the original sim worked. I'm not going to use more than about 10-11 MB a month with this setup. I hope its ok with Amazon. |

Any Ideas on how I should go about tunneling my encrypted irc traffic through their proxy?
Found this thing, quite interesting. http://www.digitalforensics-conferen...20Analysis.pdf Not sure if I sould try this, or if I should just change the simcard and go on using it for irc when Im in my home country. Last edited by bullfinch; 12-20-2013 at 07:39 AM. |

On the Amazon sim card - This discussion verges on breaking our site rules about not impacting Amazon's costs and operation. |
