Aura hd text compared with retina ipad.
Hello.
I just seen that kobo aura hd got the same ppi, 265, than retina ipad, and the text in this ipad is amazing, looks gorgeus... Does the text in kobo aura hd look similar to retina ipad? Does the text look more definied in kobo aura hd than kobo glo, aura or paperwhite? Thanks in advanced ![]() |

Compared to the lower resolution eInk displays, I find the Aura HD is quite noticeably sharper looking on text. Images suffer from being displayed in 8 or 16 level grey scale so tend to look pretty crappy on any eInk display. Regards, David |

My HD is definitely better with the hi res than my Aura, but that's not to say there's anything wrong with the Aura. It looks great, too.

It's really hard to compare backlit LCD with frontlit (passively lit) E Ink. But the Aura HD is noticeably sharper than the Aura or Glo, and I can't see the pixels at all.

Yes, I've received 3.1.1 over-the-air to my Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Aura, and Kobo Glo. It fixed the vertical spacing problem on all three devices. I'm a happy camper.
