battery drain problem
Happy New Year all,
I got a nextbook tablet for Christmas, I had intended to use it for games & comics, but it's very hard to keep it alive. At first I started downloading a few games, and playing, but when I last charged it yesterday, the battery just died overnight! Do I have to keep it plugged in all night? It also seems if I were on a trip, took it and played for awhile, I wouldn't have much power left for much of anything. I keep the wifi off when I'm not using it... seems like there are alot of Google apps on. Help please. ![]() ![]() |

Try installing and running an app that will monitor your battery and allow you to kill tasks that are running in the background and eating up your battery, such as this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tterydoctor_en

It shouldn't run down overnight like that if you're not using it. Something is eating the battery or the battery is faulty. Take a look under seetings/applications to see whats running. There are apps available that list this stuff and allow you to kill the errant processes.
Also you can install an app to enforce deep sleep when it's in standby. Deep Sleep Battery Saver is good. But you shouldn't need to do that. |

It seems the battery just sucks. Get that deep sleep app I mentioned. That should help. |

Also a lot people on 4.4 jellybean have found location services is destroying their battery (shows up as play services or google services) I think it's actually the supposed battery saving mode that does it so either just use GPS only or disable it and see if it helps.

Hi,
I've turned the screen down as low as comfortably possible. Seems pretty ok, easier on my eyes too. As soon as i can find wifi source, I'll get the battery app. There's about 4 or 5 Google apps running, but they say turning them off may affect the program. Is it ok to turn off "mail synch? i don't send them any or use the account it was just there to use Google Play. Most of the time I have wifi off. Location is off, but I will get battery app to be sure. Hope this works til I can get battery app. Thanx! ![]() ![]() |
