Give them all number 0?

Is it really important for you to know that the book is part of the Barnes & Noble Classic Series?

I would add that information to a tag. Not use any specific field.

Oh. Before you buy more, check if the same book is available for free from here. You might also want to compare the ones you've already bought with the books available here. The books from here might look better and be smaller, besides being free...

And most likely the metadata is fine, without any annoying superfluous marketing blurbs.

thanks, i didnt even think of using tags, i usually just leave the tags blank. also, that moment when you realize you've been using calibre for around 6 months and you had no idea that you could auto download metadata instead of doing it by hand 1 by 1 (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻.

The calibre revelation...

There are so many features that it is a never ending string of revelations. And when you know it all, if that is possible, there has been released a new version with more features...

Or: after Metadata Download (which needs a clean title to work with), I would append to the title this publication-level qualifier: (BN Classic)

Edit: oops, I just noticed you'd said you already had it in the title and wanted to move it out to elsewhere.

I use a variation on Unboggling's tip.
(And do note his advice: The title must NOT include these edition notes for fetch to work reliably)

title (UK) when other than a single (US) edition is included in the Library
title (original) Baen has released some of the Original editions in the Free Library of books the have been Modernized for the current release
title (frm <magazine or digest name>)

also:
author [of the work]
author (ed) for when that hat is primarily being worn huge lists of authors contained in a collection will cause issues when saving to devices. Put that list IN the comments, not in a field that will be used for a file path later.
