iBooks omits metadata, combines author/title

Hi,

I just spent a v e r y long time going through each of my books in Calibre to correct the metadata. When I dragged and dropped those books into iBooks (Maverick) they were added with the title and author separated by a backslash in the title column and most of the other data didn't carry over.

1) Can I fix it on iBooks without going over each book again, or

2) Is there a book reader for OS7 that will accept the metadata created through Calibre?

Thank you,

Thank you,
Marvin for iOS has much better support through calibre. You will need to install the iOS reader applications plugin.

You were right.

I'd not wanted to use a third party app for my books because I like the sync capabilities through iCloud and iTunes, but Marvin is a beautifully designed app. Too bad it doesn't support PDF.

Can you suggest a good PDF reader for iPad?

Cheers,

GoodReader is a good app if you merely want reading capability.

If you also want the ability to change PDF files on the iPad then PDFPen is an excellent app.

There are plenty of alternatives but I consider these the best in their class.

I've been using Kdan PDF Connoisseur for about a week. As well as reading and annotating PDF's, it does text to speech, and it can read ePub and CBR/CBZ files - it was those added features (particularly the comic book formats) that attracted me. Its not free.

I second the recommendation of GoodReader for PDFs. It is also supported by the iOS reader applications plugin, so you can send books to it from calibre.
