Question Bibit says hello

I'm a new entry looking for all kinds of information relating to using Calibre.

Sometimes there are downloads which have the name 'Conduit' on them. Do those really come from Calibre? My experience with Conduit is that they dump ads on one that are definitely inconvenient. However, Conduit cannot be removed by typical Windows 7 deletions. I finally got rid of it thru IObit. Not sure I could do it easily again, so I'm hesitant to download anything with the the Conduit name on it.

So, does anyone know, can Conduit come in with a 'new update' potential download when one is working with Calibre?

If you don't download calibre from calibre's site (or Alternate download location as linked from calibre's site) there is no telling what junk you'll download.
