Open with Goodreads?

Is there any way to add an option to open a books info on Goodreads?

Install the goodreads metadata download plugin, it will automatically add the goodreads id of the book when you download metadata, which will result in a clickable link to the book on goodreads in the book details panel.

You can also enter the goodreads ids by hand (after installing the plugin).

Thanks for that, I have the plugin installed already and in "Edit Metadata" I can see that one of the "Ids" is for Goodreads however I can't see any clickable. Links in the details view or toolbar, I have all columns enabled.

You'll have to ask in the goodreads plugin thread, I dont use it personally, so I cant help further.

Install the 'Search the Internet' PI
Configure it (may be enabled by default. I trimmed my choices) to search Good Reads (there are sub choices).

The Goodreads ID in calibre is shown in the Book details pane, see attached. Simply click on the Goodreads link to open the Goodreads book info page.

If you don't see Ids in the Book Details pane go to Preferences - Look and Feel - Book Details tab and check Identifiers, see attached.

It was a custom column I created as a Master Series identifier. So I could group All Star Wars, Star Trek: DS9, Star Trek: TNG, Doctor Who etc... and not affect the individual series some of these books belonged to.

I use those as the main series, and created a custom column containing series-like info called subseries for individual sets. Like with Drizzt, each 3 or 4 books is the something trilogy. And in Star Wars, primarily series should be -- at least for me -- chronological order, but I inject subseries into the title alsosince it's useful too. I also have Discworld set up with the individual story arcs in subseries.
