JFK biography suggestions?

Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the US President John F. Kennedy. I'm too young to have experienced anything of the Kennedy era--the much talked-about Camelot mystique, the shock and sorrow following his death--so I was wondering what books you might recommend to better understand both the man and his time.

The PBS "American Experience" 2-part series JFK isn't bad. I watched it earlier this week. it had a lot of information on JFK's medical condition that I had not heard before.
