Kindle 3 keyboard usb demo mode
hi,
does anyone know the magic keyboard shortcut to put a demo k3 into usb download mode. I have seen a mention of a special sequence of keys to enable this, does anyone know what it is ? the standard power / vol - does not work Kind Regards |

hi, amny thanks for your reply. i have the KUBRICK CD installed and working , I know this as I have a standard K3 keyboard which i can put into usb download mode and it's detected.
when I run through the same usb mode setup on the demo unit.... press power for 30 seconds then also hold down the vol- release vol- release power the unit boots but does not enter usb mode where KUBRICK can get to work. unless i'm missing something it does not appear to put the demo unit into usb download mode using the standard approach ? kind regards |

if you are saying "it boots" normally after that procedure, then I suspect your -vol button is not working right...
if you are saying "it boots" into USB mode (I.E nothing obvious happens) but isn't detected then I suspect your cable. Just until the "green/yellow light" goes out is long enough. 30 secs is about 10 too long for that IIRC. Hope it helps |

Errm.... Release Vol-, then release power? Thats not right. How is the IMX supposed to recognize pressed Vol- when it comes back up and you released it already?
