New Contest - Write Your Own Christie

I received this in my email probably ten days ago and like a fool, and not knowing what it was about, I didn't open it until this weekend; so the first part has already started. But I thought it still looks like fun!

HELP CREATE A NEW NOVEL

We're giving you the chance to exercise your "little grey cells" by helping to write an entirely new detective story, using the opening scenes from Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced as the starting point.

Beginning with an invitation to complete chapter one, each month we'll challenge you to write the next chapter with our judges selecting the best as the one to be part of the new story. Whether the murderer is the wife, the long lost nephew or the suspicious gardener, it's up to you to decide although, as always, the reveal needs to be kept until the last few pages.

Each month we will provide a clear brief as to the direction the plot needs to take, so make sure you read the guidelines (and the previous chapters - which will be published here) before you start. Details below.

The entries will be judged by our expert panel: Mathew Prichard, Agatha Christie's grandson, and HarperCollins Agatha Christie publishers, David Brawn in the UK and Daniel Mallory in the US.
