Hi guys,
Trying to undemo my Kindle Paperwhite, I tried quite a few things and wanted to try to find some of the kindle's browser vulnerabilities. The funny thing is the websites that were supposed to "maybe" crash the kindle didn't do anything, a website that was just linking to vulnerability testing websites however did crash the kindle! I tried it with Demo Kindle Paperwhite 5.2.0 and current Kindle Touch 5.3.7. The used website is 7 Browser Security Tests to Try Out and Prevent Exploit Attacks Opening this site on the kindle exits the browser to the home screen with the following error message as a dialog window. "Application Error The selected application could not be started. Please try again." This is the same message that one also gets if trying to run a wrong program through lipc... What do I want to say with this thread? 1) Show a security hole in the kindle browser and hopefully fix it! 2) Hopefully use this to undemo my Paperwhite. I think just need to rename update.txt to update.bin in /mnt/us/. Any ideas??? Unfortunately, I cannot backtrack what exactly triggers that problem, even with running "showlog -f". Thanks in advance, TommyTomTom |

![]() With "Web Developer" enabled in Firefox - that first line probably has the source of the crash in it. Code:
