EPUB to AZW3 Duplicate first image problem

Hello everyone. I will unfortunately not be able to attach images to this post of the problem because they are copyrighted but the problem is very simple to explain. I have however attached an example of the problem in the form of a EPUB file. Convert this to AZW3 and see the problem described below.

Setup:
Mac OSX 10.8.4
Calibre 1.8
EPUB to AZW3
Default conversion options

This particular EPUB project uses full frame images for the entire book. It is a children's book with tons of graphics that are just too complex for EPUB to handle in the way it was designed. So each page is composed of exactly this, all in the same chapter as far a EPUB is concerned, but with different src values of course.

When converting to this EPUB to AZW3, there is always a duplicate of the first page with an image / images in the AZW3 file. So you open it and see the first image / page twice and everything else is perfect. I have tried to put things in front of the image HTML code but it just loves to find the first image and then duplicate it. Very strange. Calibre does not complain about anything and there are no bugs. Has anyone else ever ran into this problem? Thank you all so much for any help. Attached is the conversion log.

That is because the first image is being detected as the cover. Supply your own cover when converting and you will be fine.
