Best contrast in e-reader

Hi there ! I'm an owner of a Kindle Paperwhite 1 with no light problems at all. However, I found myself using always the minimum light setting. Comparing Kindle paperwhite with other e-readers, like Sony PRS-T2 or T3, I noticed that the Sony e-readers screen is pretty white compared to my Kindle with the light at minimum. I have never touched kobo or nook e-readers, so I cannot speak about them, but I would like to know which is the e-reader with the best contrast in this moment, ignoring the boost that can provide in this aspect having an illuminated screen.

P.D.= Sorry for my poor english, I'm spanish and I'm still studying your language as hard as I can.

Welcome to MobileRead.

You have nothing to apologize for; in fact, you write better English than some native English speakers. And I would know, as I'm an English teacher.

Have fun here at MobileRead.

I looked at all of them and settled on a Kobo due to it's ability to fine tune the font weight and sharpness.

I have a PW2 and Kobo Aura HD and the Kobo definitely has the sharper contrast and as fbrII says: you can find tune the fonts even further with weight and for sharpness.

drew2720, I imagine that the better resolution of kobo aura hd makes a difference in terms of sharpness. However, if you turn the light off ( or minimum, better said ) of the paperwhite 2, don't you see the screen more white and the text darker than the aura hd or is the new "carta" screen only merchandising ?
