epub to Kindle

Good evening, morning, or whatever it is where you are.

Not sure whether this has been asked before but I can't find it. If it has, perhaps someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction...

When using Calibre to convert epub to mobi, how do I tell the converter not to embed a cover image (or not to convert the first page to a jpg, thus duplicating the first page)?

Thanks,
Paul

I believe cover size is controlled by the device output profile you set/chose

No default cover is only available on the EPUB Output options page, not for Mobi

Hi Theducks,
Thanks for responding. I have always uploaded covers to Amazon separately. I wonder what will happen if I upload a mobi file with an embedded cover and no separate cover image. I could do both but that may confuse the issue. Time will tell.
Thanks again.
