Question Advice please on buying Nook in UK

I'm going to London at the end of this week and I see that the ST Glow is on sale for 49 pounds. I'm going to buy one - I already have the ST and I love it.

So my questions are:

Do I have to register it with B&N UK or can I register it with B&N U.S. like my other Nook? Should I register it while in the UK or can I register it when I get back to Israel?

Do I need a separate email account for the new Nook or can I use the same one that I use for the ST that I bought in the States?

I think I read somewhere that if you buy a Nook from the UK you need to update the software from B&N UK not U.S. is that true?

By the way, I don't buy books from B&N, I buy from Amazon, liberate and convert, or buy from Smashwords or other indie seller.

I know...a lot of questions. Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

You can register it to the same account as the one you already have or a new one if you prefer that. It is correct that for at least one of the updates you had to download the correct one for it to work but that's not a problem. You just download. It's not like you have to register or anything to download. If the update comes to the device over the air you don't have to worry at all. It will be the right one!
You can do all of this wherever you are in the world.

Thank you, Asa. That just about covers it. So I'll go ahead and buy it. I think I might even buy it on line for pick up at the store just in case they sell out before I can get there.

I recommend John Lewis. You can have it delivered to a store (John Lewis or Waitrose) and they will hold it for 7 days for you. They even give a 2 year warranty.

Josieb, great minds think alike. I bought it from John Lewis soon after I posted my thanks to Asa. I'd already decided on John Lewis because a) they take PayPal, and b) I'll be going to Stratford City Westfield on Saturday, and I can pick it up from the JL there. While I'm there I'll check out the covers they have. I saw one for under 10 pounds on their website. http://www.johnlewis.com/nook-oliver...6?colour=Black Comes in blue and red as well as black.

Be aware they may not have all the covers on stock in the store If you have your eye on one I'd buy it to collect then do a swap if you see a better one at the time of collection

Good advice. I'll seriously think about doing that.

The U.S. B&N website has quite a few Nook Touch covers for sale at $15 and less. With their finally refreshing the line - and probably dimensions - these may go soon.

Ebay is also a great place to pick up covers especially since the NT has been out so long and manufactures like to refresh lines. I picked up two very good quality Nook covers at $5 each, shipped.

Actually ebay is very bad for Nook covers outside the US.
