Just a reminder that if you want to buy Baen's October 2013 Bundle, six SF/Fantasy books for $18, you only have FOURTEEN days left to buy it. The bundle will come off sale sometime on the 15th September, and the full bundle can be downloaded by those who've bought it sometime from the 16th onwards.

The total cost of the individual books is about $52. So if you don't already have any of the books in the bundle, that's a saving of 65%!

The books in the October bundle are:

1636: The Devil's Opera by Eric Flint and David Carrico
Treecat Wars by David Weber and Jane Lindskold

It means that if you download them today, you'll get "Three-Quarters" of the book. Baen releases the books in a serialized format. First month 1/4, next month 1/2, and so on. If you wait until the release date (in this case September 15) the whole book is available.

Those are books that are first published in October 2013. For such first release books, the final complete text only becomes available after the bundle comes off sale. So if you buy the bundle now, you'll only be able to download the complete (& final text) versions after about the 16th September.

What you can read now, online, is the first three quarters of the unproofed text that the author submitted, or perhaps the text after the first round of editorial changes, but not the final text that will appear in the finished ebooks and in the print copies.

Just the first two of the ebooks (both continuations of popular series) will be $19.98 for the pair after the 15th September, unless you want to wait a year for the paperback/price drop to $13.98.

The full downloads won't be available until the books come off sale. They should be available by this time tomorrow, or earlier.
