Indeed. The dutch mini on the official kobo site has risen from 40€ to 80€ again!

It seems that there is a new mini on the market. Can't see a difference from the specs though. Maybe it just means that they have eliminated the Touch? At unofficial resellers the mini is still 44€.

Too bad I already have an Aura.

The dutch partner site of Kobo, Libris.nl(see page link in previous post) had it until last week or so for 40€, now it is increased to 80€. Seems a strange marketing strategy if it isn't for any reason at all.

ah, if it is just that, it may be just weird marketing practices - i think this is the third time this year that Kobo reduces the Mini in the UK - I thought each time this was to prepare the ground for a new Mini, but I am losing hope now.

It is the same here. At least three times so far this year the Mini has been sold for about half price at most outlets. I took it as a strategy to raise brand awareness.

My local WH Smith had them at £30 a few months
back, then they went up to £60, now they are back
down to £30 (with the £60 crossed out on the posters).

I think it's just a marketing thing, though at £30 I might
be tempted to pick one up for 'experimentation'.

The Touch is also down to £40 at WHS. Surely that's a clearance? With the Glo, the Mini and the Aura, the Touch seems like a model too many.

I was in WHS a short while ago and saw the touch for £39.99.

Does the touch still have a slowness issues when loaded with a full 32GB card?

Has the firmware improved since last year?

sorry, I don't have a Touch, I'd suggest asking this question in the Kobo forum, I am sure you'll get help there.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say they haven't fixed it. (I've never used an SD card with mine.)

I've been in to look at the Mini again this week. WHSmith don't have the same half-price accessories offer they had last time, so it's bit less of a good deal if you also want a cover. Also, two of my colleagues bought them last time, while I manfully resisted, and I don't think either of them have used the device at all. (They both have other readers.)
