Deleting Files

If I delete a file off my device but want it to stay in the library, how would I do that? I tried deleting from device but that removed from library as well.

If deleting from Calibre then as long as you switch to the Device view then deleting books from there should only remove them from the device and not from the Calibre library?

Is this what you actually did - it was not clear from your question how you actually tried to delete the files.

You can Right-click on the title (in the normal, Library view): Select Delete (the recycle icon): Matching Books on Device (only)

ok thank you, I think I did it in the wrong window. I'm used to being more computer literate than this, it's strange.
