Need ADE help

Every month I get notification of a free book from University of Chicago - for the last several months there hasn't been one that interests me, but this month's did. I tried to download it, but was told I had to upgrade to Adobe Digital Editions 2.0, which I did. Now, when I try to download the book from UofC, ADE opens just fine, but I get an error message that it can't connect to the fulfillment center and to make sure I was connected to the internet.

ADE 2 has been authorized to my computer so that's not the issue.

Is there something I need to do to tell ADE how to connect to the internet, or is the problem on the UofC end?

I'd be looking at firewall software to be sure that the newer version of ADE wasn't accidentally blocked and/or making sure there was a firewall exception for the newer ADE.

doesn't seem to be a firewall issue. I wonder whether it's a problem on the other end, and there's an issue with UofC's servers.
