K5 Help jailbreaking a K5 on 5.3.7.3

Hi,

I have a K5 on FW 5.3.7.3. I am a bit confused which JB to use because the index clearly shows my kindle should use the newer one but there is no package in the zip for it.

And the historical does have anything higher than K4..

So what am I not seeing here?

So I have gotten to Snapshots of NiLuJe's hacks and opened theK5 page.

I would think the K5 JailBreak (5.0.x - 5.4.4.2) is the one I should use but following the instructions does not work. First time a popup box with the text "Do you want to update?" and I waited and nothing happened. So I pressed the OK button and soon after an "Update Error" message came. And the device restarts.

The JB might have worked, I can't tell.

So I do to that thread.

There the list of supported devices are

How can that solution be for my device since it's a KT(1) I guess? Also as I said in the first post, there is no package in that archive for my device. So I guess I have to use one of NiJuLe's older jb's right?

But they don't work or it is stated in the readme that it could render my device unopenable... Since I understand so very little of most of what is said because most of it requires previous knowledge I am willing to apply a jb that comes with a warning but not a clear explanation of when to use it.

I really need someone who knows what all the explanations mean to confirm that I trying the right jb...

Also if I search for anything I just get a "Search not found" page... Makes it hard to help my self...

Ok I am dumb but that was probably obvious...

I copied over the entire contents of the tar.xz and not just the jb zip... Don't do stuff at 1 am friday night after a long work day.. eyes / brain do not work right.

JB successful.
