Touch Unable To Change Font Size

I have a Touch that's a couple of years old and running 2.6.1. Just did a sync and the firmware was not updated but that's another story.

I've searched the forums a bit but couldn't find anything related to the problem I'm seeing. My apologies if there's existing thread and point me to it.

I can no longer bring up the menu at the bottom of a page where you changes fonts etc. The book I was reading was purchased from KOBO and when first opened displayed with a super large font. I had to change the font size to the smallest setting in order to get a reasonable display.

Finished that book and moved on to another also purchased from Kobo. When opened it displays with a tiny font (the smallest possible I suspect) and, as mentioned above, I can't change the font size.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Could you check and see what format the book is in? Is it PDF, ePub or kePub?

It shows as being a KOBO EPUB on the Touch. The current book is 'Life Probe' by Michael McCollum and the previous book (with super large text) was 'The Sails of Tau Ceti' by the same author. It is also a KOBO EPUB.

I downloaded the preview of this Life Probe book and have no issue with changing the font size but that doesn't mean there isn't something wrong with the full version of the book. The web site says it is available as a DRM free epub so you might want to download that version of the book rather than the kepub and see if that allows you to change the font size or not, and because it is DRM free you should be able edit it to fix the problem if the epub doesn't work properly either.

Good point about them being DRM free so I don't have to worry about losing them. Anyways I deleted both books and things appear to have returned to normal. I can access the menu at the page bottoms and change font size.

I'll try downloading the books again and see if the epub works properly.

Downloaded Life Probe through the Touch and everything looks OK. Not sure what was going on there but thanks for the suggestions.
