Andrew J. Offutt dead at 78 - Fantasy author

Fantasy/Sci-Fi author Andrew J. Offutt (1934-2013) died April 30, but I'm just now discovering this fact. He was 78 years old. He's probably best known for his fantasy series of edited volumes, "Swords Against Darkness," as well as his Howardesqe Fantasy Novels. On a personal note, I was a big fan of his work during the early 80s. I keep waiting for his ebooks to become available.... Don |

I did not realize that he had died either. I also enjoyed his books. Apache |

Bummer. I have some of his books. Not exactly high literature, but some fun stories that I didn't mind spending my lunch money for in high school and college.

Always sad when a talented writer leaves us. There was a lot of entertainment in those little paperbacks.

Exactly. I can remember spending Saturday afternoons in the used book store in my hometown, usually spending the money from my paper route and whatever I saved from lunch money. I often came home with his books.
