Just a note that this weeks' release will be either delayed or canceled. I have a small family emergency, so it depends on whether I can find the time in the next couple of days, or not.

No problem on the delay, but if I may report a bug (since there is a delay)?

Running 0.9.40 under Win7/64, when Calibre updates a UTF-8 file (OPF, HTML, NCX, whatever) in an EPUB, it appears to strip out the byte order mark that properly identifies the file as being UTF-8.

Thanks, all. Things seem to be going well for the moment, so I am making the release today.

@Rev Bob: BOM marks cause problems in various ebook consuming applications. calibre produced ebooks always identify their encoding using whatever standard exists for the file in question (opf/html/ncx) and that encoding is always utf-8, which is the default encoding for all those filetypes in epub.
