Hmm. I only have 2 Penguin books in my Wish List and they're both still $11+. But that's down from $13 at least.

On several occasions lately I've bought trade-published paperbacks because they were cheaper than the e-book version. I'm guessing protecting the print market is the goal when they're keeping e-book prices high.

Maybe. But there's fewer reasons to discount ebooks in general.

They don't take up inventory space. They don't yellow, tear, get banged or up dog-eared. There's no pressure to get old ebooks moved. The only reason to discount is price comparison with physical books and pirate versions.
