Kobo Touch problem with setup

I downloaded Kobo Desktop, but setup will not go from first step, and my PC is asking to format my reader, but when I try it it constantly shows the message windows was not able to complete the format, what is the problem and what I should do, I mean is it problem with my PC or with my e reader.

I had this happen today thought I would download the desktop to see if it had updated.. If it did update its messed up. Go to the developers corner in this forum and download the desktop 3.2.3 edition. Uninstall the software you have installed and then install the edition you just downloaded
