Calibre opening books on first click - help?
Just recently upgraded Calibre tonight to 9.39.
Ever since, every time I click just once on a book title, it opens the book. This is really annoying as I prefer to double click to open the book as before. Is this a new feature or a bug? If a new feature, can I turn it off somehow and go back to where only a double click opens a book? |

There is a Tweak setting that will cause a single-click in the Book List to open the book rather than edit.

Windows 7 Home. It is now only doing it sometimes, instead of every time. I haven't changed anything other than "reset to default" on the tweak Sabardeyn mentioned below:
I checked that. It hasn't been changed, but just to be sure I hit "reset to default" and applied. |

@Lily7 - have you a tried different mouse, maybe your mouse left button has developed a jitter, a'la the keys on keyboards that start bouncing or sticking.
Have you recently configured the mouse in an odd manner, do you use any mouse enhancement software, have you (or did it) upgrade to a new version. BR |

I'd guess that's the mouse also as BetterRed suggested, especially since it's not happening every time. Logitech mice particularly start to develop an annoying double-click when they start to go bad. Play a game of solitaire or something where there are different actions for a double-click and see if it's happening there too. It gets annoying real fast.
There is a way to take apart the mouse and rebend a spring if it's a very expensive mouse. Otherwise you'd be better off just replacing the mouse once (and if) you've rules out other problems and have pinned the problem down to the accidental double-clicks of the mouse. |

Did someone say MOUSE
![]() I tend to agree it may be the mouse. I like Logitech mice but the micro-switches in them are abysmal for having a soft action and then loosing their tension and starting to double click instead of a single click. So much so that I now replace the micro-switches for left and right click with better quality ones. |

And while I hate the double-click problem, I love my MX Revolution mice, and since it's not made anymore (the Performance MX isn't the same), I'll keep taking them apart to keep using them. So mouse war or not, I'm happily keeping my defective mice! ![]() |

You need all the physical specs: Lead spacing and size. (actuator) Height Actuator style. Allied Electronics Mouser Newark Are common 'Silicon Valley' suppliers of things like that. Me, I still have my Kensington Expert Mouse Pro. (The current replacement is triple what I paid ![]() I wore out the Expert Mouse (the one with only 4 buttons), And I did swap the switches positions around ![]() |

It uses a microswitch like the last three on this page. So far I've been re-bending the small copper tension spring that's inside this switch, but it's a pain getting the spring back into position.
Edit: Actually, this is the exact info off one of the switches from inside the mouse, found my text file I saved on it in case I had to go that route: Omron 2968RN7 D2FC-F-7N(10M) Last edited by Ripplinger; 07-16-2013 at 10:56 AM. |

The ones I use are Omron D2F-01F and these are drop in replacements and give a definite sharp click when actuated, but still have a low actuating force (0.74N) and are very cheap. They also last well. Specification is; snap action, NO/NC, SPDT, pin plunger, PC pins, 0.1A, 125Vac, 30Vdc, 0.74N, through hole. I know of others who use the same switches. These should be available from most big electronic warehouses, I use RS-Components who exist throughout the world. In my own country they have no minimum order quantity, prompt service and free delivery (I feel guilty because I think the delivery on half a dozen micro-switches costs more than the switches do themselves). As you probably realise, it is far easier to just replace the switch than it is to reassemble a switch after pulling it apart to rebend the spring ![]() Last edited by AnotherCat; 07-16-2013 at 06:45 PM. |

I said I didn't want to start Mouse Wars III, so what do we get - Microswitch Wars IV
If I were Lily7, I would pop along to my local M-i-C shop and buy a $2.50 Volkswagen Beetle mouse ![]() BR |

The other D2F-01F-(x) family types shown in your link do not have standard PCB terminals and so won't fit through the existing PCB holes (the closest is the D2F-01F-T which has self clinching terminals which are over a mm in dia., whereas standard terminal is 0.4mm and is what the board is drilled for). EDIT: Meant to mention that the F after the 01 designates the low actuating force switches in the D2F family so don't be tempted to get D2F-01 instead of the recommended D2F-01F Last edited by AnotherCat; 07-16-2013 at 08:43 PM. |
