Is there a way of forcing Calibre to use "system" Python?
Hi all,
in view of this problem, I am trying to understand whether there is a way of making Calibre to use the "system" installation of Python (in my case, Windows 32bit + Python 2.7.5) instead of the bundled Python libs (in my case, Windows 32bit + Python 2.7.4). From my tests, it seems not possible, but I would like a confirmation from the experts. Alternatively, I would appreciate if the next Calibre for Windows will ship Python 2.7.5, since Python 2.7.4 is full of regression bugs at key libraries, like zipfile. Thanks. |

Use calibre.utils.zipfile instead of zipfile.
The python stdlib zipfile is badly broken and has always been badly broken. |

Thanks for the quick reply.
From a quick test, your suggestion seems to work perfectly, and I appreciate the fact that I just need to change the import lines ![]() |
