New Kindle PW user and Calibre - author Sort question...
Hi all - I'm a new user to the kindle. I have some Epub books which i have used calibre to copy on to my kindle. However when I look at Books on the device and then click sort by Author - all I get is the same book front covers for all my books - they are not grouped by author at all, and they don't seem to be in any order - for example I have Leechild books, then a Michael Connelly, then a load of Grishams, then back to Lee Child - it doesn't seem to be doing any sorting. when i look at the metadata for the epubs in Calibre, they have Author sort titles set the same, Child, Lee for example. not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it seems like the author sort option is either not very useful, or not working for me?

Please use the forums correctly. Kindle questions belong in the Kindle forum, to where I'm now moving this thread.

There's really only two possibilities:
1. The metadata in the books isn't correct. (But you say you've checked this in Calibre). 2. You're using "Recent" or "Collections" sort order, not "Author" or "Title". Double check what order you have selected. Does switching from cover to list view make any difference? Last edited by HarryT; 06-30-2013 at 08:41 AM. |

apologies, I hadn't noticed the Kindle specific forum.
@HarryT - even in the list view i still see every book, rather than just the authors. am i right in assuming that if i look at the books, and then sort by author then i should just be able to search by author, and then delve deeper into what books they then have? |

Yes, you will see every book. Sorting by author does exactly what it says: it sorts the books in order of author name. It doesn't hide anything.
