Fontfix hack works on my K4S, but not my K4B

I was using this hack.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=115, on my Kindle 4's. It installed perfectly on my K4 Silver, but when I try to use it on my K4 Black, the update option is greyed out. Both Kindle's are running the same firmware, and both are jailbroken using the same hack. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong here. Is there any reason that the hack would work on one "version" and not the other?

First 4 characters of each machine's serial number please.

9023 for K4B, and B00E for the K4S.

Hmm...
It might be packaged for the B00E only not the B00E, 9023 and B023.
Since I see only a single choice in the archive for "Kindle 4" installers.

You could take apart the "k4" install *.bin with KindleTool, and then use the install script as step-by-step instructions to install on the K4B "by hand";
or
Repackage it to include the missing K4 model series's.

That package might have been build before the K4S and the K4B started using the same firmware version (at one time, they used different firmware versions).

Yep, not packaged for the K4B.

Cf. my very latest post in the KindleTool thread for basic repacking instructions. (That said, you're on your own, I've never tested this specific hack myself, so if all hell breaks lose when it hits a K4B, don't blame me, you've been warned

).
