Book series and Nook HD+
I own a N1E and a Simple Touch and have used the metadata plugboards to add the series and book number to the titles of books I transfer to those devices. It makes reading in order a lot easier. I recently bought a Nook HD+ and would like to add the series/book number to books I transfer to the HD+. I've searched the Calibre boards and I either am not finding it, or I don't understand what I'm reading. Nook HD+ is not one of the drop-down devices listed on the plugboard.
So does anyone know how to do this for the HD+? {series} {series_index} {title} is how I like things to be on the other devices I own. Thank you for any help you can provide. |

I am not familiar with HD+ but if you are using it in disk drive mode or using an SD card, you could use the Save to Disk Option with those settings.

Well, the HD+ doesn't show up as a disk drive on Windows 7 (forgot to mention my operating system, too. It's been awhile since I had to ask for help). It shows up as MTP (I think I have that right), which might be part of the problem. Is Kindle Fire the same level of tablet the Nook HD+ is? Because Kindle Fire shows up in the drop-down box on the plug board. Also, the Nook Simple Touch uses the Nook Color protocol, there is no Simple Touch in the drop-down box. Yet the series info gets transferred to the title on the NST. My preferred series input is the same for Nook 1st Edition and Nook Color (or NST). Only the device is different in the plugboard.
Maybe this is something the developer of this particular plugboard could fix. It would be lovely to have. I tried the Save to Disk Option, and Calibre doesn't recognize MyNook as a valid folder. Probably because the computer doesn't recognize my plugged-in HD as a disk drive. |

Try picking Any device in the plugboard.
Personally I use Calibre Companion (CC) for managing books on my tablet, no plugboard required. All of calibre's metadata is in the CC gui. |

Like almost all newer android-based readers (and tablets etc), the Nook HD+ is an MTP device. Choosing that in the plugboard should work.

That seems to have worked. Thank you very much! I was so busy looking for the word 'Nook' that I completely missed the MPT.
