Aura HD with Aldiko
Sorry if this has already been covered; I've searched but can't find a posting.
Is there anyway to install and run Aldiko reader on the Kobo Aura HD? I've been using Aldiko on my old Vox so I know and like it so it would be nice to be able to use it on the new Aura. Thanks Steve |

Boo.... :-(
Okay thanks. Don't suppose then there is anyway to get the Kobo reader to read my Calibre library (like Aldiko)? |

The Aura is an eink device built on Linux, not Android. It does not have tablet functionality. It does have a web browser that will "read" the Calibre server.

Gotcha :-)
So I've got the Aura browser to connect to the calibre library (but only by clearing the server username and password which isn't a problem). Is there anyway to make the browser remember the server URL or, even better, to put the URL on the home screen? Thanks for all the support. |

Yes... how do you create a bookmark in the browser?

Press the menu icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. This has options to add to favourites or set the home page.

Bugger.... it won't stay switched off :-(
I switch it off on the red button. The screen clears. Wait about 10 seconds and it starts back up again! :-( What? :-( |

Hold the power switch for about 3 seconds to power it off. Does it display a book cover with either Powered Off at the top of the screen or a box on the left side with Powered Off in it? Which you see depends on whether covers are displayed in full screen mode during sleep and power off. If it does power up again -- the touch screen responds, etc., I'd suggest seeing if you can get an exchange for a faulty power switch. Regards, David Last edited by DNSB; 06-11-2013 at 10:24 AM. |

Okay... Button to the right for three seconds. Screen goes white (clear). After about 3 seconds the screen flickers and I get the boxes counting across the middle of the screen. After about another 5 seconds it's up showing the normal home screen.. There are no messages saying off or any boxes saying off.

If I hold the red button for even longer (like 13 seconds) it starts up again. At no stage do I see anything saying off.
So it's buggered then? :-( |

Yeah, it really sounds like the issue some others had mentioned with having the SleepCover option ON while not using the SleepCover. Something is triggering it to think you've reopened the cover (magnetic blood? heh) that you're obviously not using. Try unchecking it...I wrote how in your other thread.
