Hello from the land of PalmOS and now the Amazon Kindle

I don't necessarily agree with the idea of "obsolescence". Hobbyists I think deserve a place in the electronic dominion. Anyone could be running Palm OS on even the newest computer system, after all. There's no reason to equate "obsolete" with "immodern" for just such a reason.

That's my introduction. I like Amiga OS and I like Palm OS and at least Windows and now Linux suffices to take you there. And JAVA rather does it all.

I showed up here at Mobileread for the major reason that I was looking into the Sunrise XP forum that has since been discontinued and archived, so I perceive.

I rather don't know where to go from there.

Thanks and ... Hello!

Welcome.

Before the Kindle Keyboard, I read books (and, even more, news) on the Palm Z22. Before that, on the Palm IIIxe.

What obsoleted Palm, for me, was the demise of the Avantgo.com news service. If the user community remains strong, none of these devices can really become obsolete.

Until I received a Nook STG as a gift a year ago, I was reading all my ebooks on my Palm M-105, using Mobipocket to convert them. I still use the gadget for calendaring, contacts, taking notes, etc. Uses two rechargeable AAA batteries. Couldn't live without it. (Until I get something new to replace it -- >as a gift<.)

Lovely reading that.

I use a couple Palms, SJ30 and TH55. I think Palm OS5 was over OS4. Could Palm had sabotaged it any better to assure its destruction?
