PW 5.3.5 Update

AT LAST!

(Pardon my yelling)

We have a new, free software update available for Kindle Paperwhite. The software update will be delivered wirelessly and includes feature enhancements and general improvements for your Kindle Paperwhite. This update automatically downloads and installs for Kindle Paperwhite customers; however, you can also manually download the software and update your device via USB cable.

The software update includes the following enhancements:

View full definition when looking up a word
When you look up a word in the dictionary, you can now view the full definition in the definition window.

Search enhancements
You can easily search for a highlighted word or phrase in your book, your items, or in the Kindle Store. Highlight the word or phrase, select More, and then select Search.

Dunno why they didn't do this from the get go, my Kindle Keyboard could do it! Wasn't waiting for an over-the-air update, it's installing now.

Does the new FW give it the ability to see how much time is left in a chapter I like that feature of my Fire HD.

It had that in 5.3.4 if not before

It's one of the Paperwhite's features. It wasn't something that was added with a new released firmware.

Nice update! But now I'm convinced swiping up to flip through chapters will never be back though

Oh I will wait for the reports come back in before upgrading but I will ask what everyone else wants to know. Does the custom fonts still work with the new update?

I only added the custom fonts via the Use_Alt_Fonts tonight and my PW is on 5.3.5, and its working fine with the new fonts.

I updated to 5.3.5 today and my custom fonts no longer show up in the list of fonts available while using the Paperwhite. I plugged the reader in to my computer and the Use_Alt_Fonts file is still present in the root directory and the custom fonts folder is also still there. Do you think I should delete the Use_Alt_Fonts file and make another?

Try a restart.

uninstalling duokan then upgrade just like previous update 5.3.4?

There is no update that will convince me to update. I don't want any of my hacks to stop working. I "locked the back door", I am done with updates! It's fine just the way it is!
