Skipping comment length limitation
Hi,
I don't remember if I've asked it. I convert my books from the command line, and I use ebook-meta for adding comments. There's a problem, however, when I add long comments. I remember there's a limitation because Sony had a problem with them, but I don't have Sony as my chosen device at this moment. Is there any way to add a comment of any length without ebook-meta truncating it? Thank you. |

If there was/is a problem with some Sony devices and long comments (I have this knowledge trapped at the back of my mind, but I just can't shake it loose) I would have thought the comments in the metadata would have been truncated when sending to the device or possibly when converting if you have Sony set as your output profile. But I do not believe the solution was to truncate comments across the board for a Sony specific difficulty. |

Most operating systems have limits on the length of command lines, other than that, I cant recall any limitations in ebook-meta regarding comment length.

--from-opf allows reading all metadata from opf files, not just comments.
