Apply tags to more than one para in BV
I'm learning to work in CV, but some things are easier in BV
1. If I start with this from BV and select BOTH the first 2 paragraphs and apply the [H] button ... Code:
<body> <p>Heading One</p> <p>Also Heading One</p> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nulla ac tellus nunc. Phasellus imperdiet leo metus, et gravida lacus. Donec metus ligula, elementum at pellentesque pellentesque, suscipit ac nunc.</p> <p>Etiam lobortis, massa ac aliquam auctor, augue nisl sagittis urna, at dapibus tellus erat ullamcorper ligula. Praesent orci dui, pulvinar id convallis a, faucibus non mauris. Sed at velit nisl. Donec eu mauris tortor, interdum condimentum erat. Nam egestas turpis eget nibh laoreet pharetra. Suspendisse a sem eros, ut pulvinar enim. In sed elit eu nulla accumsan tincidunt eget sit amet ipsum. Nullam ut massa rutrum dolor placerat tempor accumsan eget purus. </p> </body> The H1 tags only get applied to the last para Code:
<body> <p>Heading One</p> <h1>Also Heading One</h1> I would have expected that [H1] would be applied to each para in the selection Paul |

Well ..... sort of kind of an implied question (maybe). I really meant to ask .... "Is that the intended behavior to only apply such formatting to the last <..> text </ ..> in the selection, or a bug, or should it be suggested as possible feature?" [P] works the same way, but it just seemed IMHO a little counter-intuitive. Paul PS. Thanks for the Link |

It does make sense to be able to apply a change like that to all the tags in a selection. Although it would be interesting to see how it handled any internal <span><em><strong>, etc. tags.

It makes sense to me the way it works.
It works on a single Element (http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html40...t.html#h-3.2.1 ) IMHO 3 sequential headings is odd and an alternate coding might be better. Code:
<h3 class="chapter">42<br /><span class="chaptitle">The Title</span><br /><span class="chapsubt">subtle title :)</span></h3> Some day, we may see Sigil get the ability to 'set' (as in attach) a CSS selector interactively to those buttons via a right click with the default being the present SGC way. scenario: right-click the [P]: (multi: in the preferred order?) choose a selector (the burden is on the user to pick sensible ones) ex: firstpara and bolditalic = <p class="firstpara bolditalic"> |

Thanks --
I can see the postitives either way, but I still believe (IMVHO) that it's counter-intuititive to only apply an operation to part of the selection. It should be up to the user to realize that their choice was odd I ended up applying H2 to both paras in BV, joining them, and finally inserting a line break so as to end up with a single H2 with 2 lines Quote:
What was interesting was to use [H2] in code view with only a single <p>...</p> selected. It ended up as <h2><p>...</p></h2>. I was expecting it to just replace the <p> tags. Just unexpected is all Paul Last edited by phossler; 05-11-2013 at 11:40 AM. |

Don't Select in BV for those tag buttons... Just click to set the cursor (insertion point) on the line. Now click the button. |
