Kobo Awards

Hi,

You probably know that Kobo provides mini "Awards" to gamify our reading

Here is the list of existing badges:
- "Book lover" - sign in to your Kobo acount or create a new one today
- "I <3 My Library" - started to build a digital library with Kobo
- "Once Upon a Time" - started reading a new book
- "Not an Open Book" - finished a book
- "Pressed for details" - mastered the art of the long press (book details)
- "Scout Leader" - 10 Kobo Achievements
- "Highly Decorated" - 20 Kobo Achievements
- "Night Rider" - you read all night long
- "Word Up! 10" - new definitions for you
- "Juggernaut" - turned 10.000 pages
- "Page Turner" - read for 2 hours straight
- "Afternoon Rush Hour" - read 5 times between 4pm and 6pm
- "Happy Hour" - read 5 times during cocktail hour: 6pm - 8pm
- "PrimeTime" - read 5 times during PrimeTime: 8pm - 10pm
- "Better in Bed" - read 5 times during bedtime: 10pm - 12am
- "Witching Hour" - read 5 times during Witching Hour: 12am - 1am
- "Kill the Commute" - read 5 times between 7am and 9am
- "Sleeping In" - read 5 times between 9am and 12am
- "I Eat Books for Lunch" - read during lunchtime: 12pm and 2pm
- "Playing Hooky" - ead 5 times between 2pm and 4pm
- "All You Can Eat" - Consume mass quantities to earn this Award
- "Facebook" - connect Facebook to your reading like to unlock this award
- "Inverted Comma" - Select your favorite passages using our highlighting feature
- "Papillon" - 10 shares on Facebook


I would like to share some ideas for new badges :
- "Curious" - open 10 times the Dictionary
- "Multicultural" - open 10 times the Translation Dictionary
- "Sniper" - read a book in 1 shot
- "Archivist" - create 5 shelves to classify your books
- "Serial Reader" - read 5 books from the same serie


Any other idea of badges that could be fun ?

How about:

"On a roll" - down have to login/logout/reset your reader for a week
"Freakin' Awesome" - Don't have to do a Factory reset for a month

Hello,
That does somewhat exist already, it's the "Word up!" award. You access the dictionary function 10 times and you get the award.

There are other "hidden" awards. if you want a list of awards, and for some of them, how to obtain them, have a look at this thread

I've picked this post from NiborSypher, as they have created a PDF with the list of awards, which might be of use

Maybe a reward for x number of sideloads.

Although I suppose Kobo wouldn't want to reward for not buying their kepubs.

Here's an older thread about the awards that I think has them all listed. Post #92 on Page 7 has a list, and NiborSypher has created a pdf file with them all listed (although it displays as gibberish for me except for the symbols), Kobo Reading Live Award List, the link is also in his sig on his posts.

I'm starting to think that some of the awards need kepubs to trigger them. After I factory-reset my Glo, I tried getting some, and never got the awards for highlighting or annotations or the lolz cat, even though I made a lot of notes.

If there was a file to edit to show all awards, I'd do it .

Edit: Now that fully read every post, Sharkus beat me to this info, his links I'm sure are the same as mine.

There is one for that too. "Fully Loaded" is, I think, the actual name. Pretty sure you get it for side-loading one epub or pdf file.

These would be nice additions. Also I noticed that there hasn't been any new awards in quite some time, 24 seems to be the final number.
But hoping to see new ones soon I would suggest:

- Brick reader: Read at least 1 books that has 1000 pages or more
- Slow reader: Read at least 12 books in a year
- Average reader: Read at least 25 books in a year
- Fast reader: Read at least 50 books in a year
- Multi-reader: Read at least 3 books simultaneously and finish them

i am never going to get the Papillon award. I am not going to spam my Facebook friends with Kobo updates....if they want to know what I am reading, they can follow me on Goodreads. When I first got a Kobo, I quite enjoyed the reading awards, but now I just enjoy reading great books, and that is the only reward that I want.
