Angry HELP!!

Hi,
I was hoping my first posting might be on asking for information or some other useful book building task, such is not to be. Instead I am asking for advice because the frustration levels are rising rapidly.

I received two ebooks on Christmas Eve (one for me and one for my wife - stops arguements over reading). It was lovely all was going well then my wifes unit just packed in. Both the unit and SD card can be recognised by the PC but when switched on the screen has a single line on it. My wife has contacted booken about this and after some days received several helpful messages but nothing has improved and now they have stopped replying to her. What on earth can we do.

All helpful advice is most welcome.

Not very good customer relations.

PS posted this in the newcomers forum too. simple learning mistake sorry.

Sounds like a fault with the display controller. It will, unfortunately, most likely have to be returned to Bookeen for replacement.

Hi Harry,
thanks for the reply. I must admit that was a conclusion I had reached too (thanks to other posts on this forum) but at the moment we have no contact to even obtain instructions on how to do that. which is realy griping. I have even offered to accept the charges if they would call us. All in all it makes you wonder.
Cheers

"support@bookeen.com" generally reply pretty quickly. Might be worth sending from a different system (eg a hotmail account) if you're having difficulties getting in touch.

While your frustration level is going down, mine is going up. But its not Bookeens fault. The FedEx delivery truck has been robbed, and 80% of my delivery has been stolen. That really sucks.

I still haven't made a decision which one or if to buy an ebook reader. With the new kernel 2.6 development going on and the open delta driver, to say nothing of the Open Community project iRex wants to start I am getting more tempted. They also seem to have decent support.

The iLiad is a very nice machine. Its a bit slow, but it has the only viable screen for reading PDF files. Support depends on the day, and whom you reach i guess But thats the way it is with small companies that are run over by demand. I do hope they introduce a nicer machine mid 2008 with a larger screen, better hardware power management and much better software .

Hi HARRY and all the other members tuning in and replying.
Just as I have shared my frustrations let me share my joy. Bookeen eventually sent us a return materials authorisation which my wife did. The net outcome is that today we received a replacement/repaired cybook which works a dream. Im so chuffed this has a happy ending. Now all that remains is to say thanks not just to Bookeen but to those who posted thier replies, its nice to know your not on your own when your down in the dumps.
Take care one and all and enjoy!

It is nice to hear that Bookeen is out there and listening/responding to consumer problems.

not really...bookeen won't even respond anymore to my emails :|
They answered exactly once, to ask me more questions, but after I sent them a mail back it remained quiet, for almost 2 weeks now.
