Change the output profile. When converting the images will then be scaled to fit. The tablet profile does no scaling. Try Sony. Or experiment.

You could edit the epub in Sigil and manually rescale the pictures to make sure they fit any specific device.

Another way could be to convert the bit mapped images to scalable vector graphics, SVG.

Another way to handle this could be to convert to pdf. Then the viewer app could easily rescale the full pages.

What eReading apps have you tried on Android? Do you see the same outcome in all of them?

Hi , I just tested with Sigil it's not what I needed after I try around with it , because I cannot predict what future other users will use .. I need a more general purpose solution , for example I can provide a proper IOS ebook as Apple products are all the same but as in android , I seems to get different results on 10 inch tablets , galaxy note phones , and tablet 7+ . I am so lost I dont know what to do

@Peter , I have used apps such as ibook , Aldiko and Ebook reader , all display with weird results

Since the material seems to consist of mainly images, and you have problems rescaling them, epub may not be a good format. Try pdf instead. Or a comic book format.

There could be some other weird formatting tricks in the books that cause your problems. A detailed analysis in Sigil should reveal this and allow you to remove such formatting. As I understand it somtimes ebooks are designed specifically for only one device with fixed layout, and it may then be difficult to convert that book to other devices. Could that be the case here? Perhaps your problems are intentional from the publisher to discourage conversion to other platforms and possible mass piracy? Or the publisher never intended the books to be used on any other platform other than apple.

That said I have never had any problems with images in epubs if I use the correct output profile. But I have limited experience from different devices.

Hi Adoby

Yes you indeed had a good point of view of yours , Unfortunately this is the problem that the publisher is facing , they are a small company that wishes to expand their sales to android platform , but is just a small problem for them for now , therefore they hire me ( a student ) through a friend's recommendation to ask me if I could solve the problem for them. ePub is a must that I can say ,
Is there any more section that I can explore which has the slightest chances of rectifying this ? I can spend my time to do research on it . Forgive my language and time of posting because I am from Malaysia time zone .

I would recommend you to try to create a new ebook from scratch in Sigil. Just a small one with three or four pages. That way you can ensure that there is no fixed layout. Then test this book on different devices.

It doesn't even have to be the same pictures as in the real books, just the same sizes.

Then, if there still are problems, you can easily upload the book here (or perhaps better in the epub subforum) and ask for help on how to make the book usable on more devices.

After this you can more easily decide how to handle it. Either change the original book to make it usable on any device, or create a special version of the book for the Android segment. Or something else.

You can read more about fixed format epubs here: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Fixed_layout_ePub

Since Android devices comes in many different sizes, fixed layout is usually not a good idea for that platform...
