Hi, all.
I tried to upgraded my M92 from Firmware ver. 1.7 to 1.8(recent one: 20121113). My Memory Usage was 183/245MB and Flash Usage was 3130/3297MB. I know how to upgrade firmware (Copy firmware ZIP file to SD card and press ON/OFF button holding joystick/OK button until "Software update request deteced, checking updates... " message comes up. ) But the thing is, NO Upgrade done. I tried 5 times the same way. It took about 10 min every times. But last time, the "No update found booting device..." was came out after "Software update request deteced, checking updates... " message gone. I tried to turn on M92 after pressing reset button on the back of M92. If I press just Power button, it goes like. ( http://youtu.be/rFNGCC7jIUM ) If I press Power+OK joystick both, it goes like. ( http://youtu.be/YfzwM0wenzA ) In both, the blue light was on forever and M92 freeze. Battery was full. (I linked M92 to PC via USB port.) I think it must be a software glitch since everything works fine in normal use. (No hardware thing for sure.) I would be happy to hear some FACTORY reset or problem solving way. Thanks in advance. |

Hi wmmania, welcome to the forum!
![]() I really don't know if it has any impact but I would try it with an sd-card that has much more free memory available. Maybe this is the problem here. |

Where did you by you M92 ?
It's a standard model (like the Booxstor's models http://ereader-store.de/en/ ) or something else - ArtaTech ? |

OMG...
Hi billi, Thank you for your advice.
I tried another 4GB SD card. 8GB SD card, too. The same result. -------------------------------- Randy11 I bought M92 at https://www.onyxboox.com I heard ArtaTech product has some limitation for updating firmware. Is this linked with "https://www.onyxboox.com", too? |

Thank you randy11.
I double checked SD card file system in FAT32, NTFS, ExFAT. No difference. ------------------------ Dear Chexmix Did you solve the problem or just send your M92 to Onyx company? I think there's a software bug or glitch on M92. |

Dear Booxtor!!
Booxtor,
Do you have any idea about this problem? If there's a way of rooting M92, it would be nice..... ![]() Such as "What OTFM can do in M92" in PC. |

Device doest stuck at first loading symbol and no upgrade can be done with any firmware (tried 1.7 M92, again M92 black pearl and few others). I have already contacted the Arta Tech (via email as I can't send ticket from theire site - it does say you have to enter subject even if I have it entered). I'll keep you posted if I got any info. |

The US dealer released a new firmware - I think they are selling Arta Tech models.
http://www.onyxboox.com/images/update-20130315.zip Unfortunately, I tried to update to this firmware, but with no luck (reboots immediately after checking for updates). PS: not onyx-boox but onyxboox. PS2: The firmware version of this recently purchased device is 1.8 20121224. So the Arta Tech models already got v1.8 firmware (hmmm, I am a little disappointed b/c I expected more fancy features ![]() Last edited by frank0734; 03-20-2013 at 11:56 PM. |
